Brownwood Senior Citizens Building

We are here to serve the needs of Brownwood Citizens 60 years of age or older.  Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am until 3:00 pm.  Lunch is served at noon each weekday.  Our Center is located at 110 S Greenleaf, across from the Coliseum.  The food we serve is prepared in our kitchen at the Senior Center.  The requested donation for lunch at the Senior Center is $2.00.

In addition to lunch we offer seniors the opportunity to meet with others in the dining area for games and visiting.  Our building has a game area for table games and a pool table in the facility.

There is no membership fee, but we are required to have documentation for the State of Texas Department on Aging for everyone who eats our meals. Visitors and guests under 60 years of age will be charged $3.25 per meal.

The Brownwood Senior Citizens Program delivers meals to seniors who are homebound and not able to prepare a meal for themselves.  WE ARE NOT MEALS ON WHEELS.   There is another program in Brownwood that has that official name.  The preliminary requirements for receiving a home delivered meal are:

1.     Must be 60 years of age or older.

2.     Must be homebound.  No longer able to
drive or do their own shopping.

3.     Must be unable to prepare a meal for
  themselves and not have anyone
living with them who is able to prepare a
  meal.

4.     Must live inside the City Limits of
  Brownwood.

After a senior meets these preliminary requirements we must fill out a Functional Assessment Form on each applicant.  In order to qualify for home delivered meals the applicant must score 20 or greater on this form.

Home Delivered Meals are delivered each weekday for the noon meal only.  The requested donation is $2.00 per meal.
